Biography

Cho Shing Sung, meaning "Supernova" in Korean, is an idol band made up of six good-looking and talented boys who have undergone extensive vocal, dancing, and acting training before their debut. In order to set themselves apart from the other groups out there, Cho Shin Sung prefer to sport a more formal look to enhance their masculine appeal.

Debut (2007)

The group debuted with their first single, "Hit", in September 2007. "Hit" is a powerful dance number and was written by Cho Young Soo, usually a guarantee of popularity and success. The group quickly followed that up a month later with their first album, "Beautiful Stardust". The album features a wide range of songs, from powerful dance music (Hit) to romantic and playful (Good-bye). Their first album garnered a huge response from women in their teens and 20s, which sent the songs up the charts in the first week of release. The group also made headlines with their big-budget blockbuster music video, starring singer/actress Yoo Jin and directed by Cha Eun Taek.

Comeback

The six boys have come back with a new digital single, "2011 Love Song Choshinsung." The 2011 Love Songs project included a number of big-name Korean singers, including SG Wannabe, F.T. Island, See Ya, and Shin Hye Sung. Cho Shin performed"Superstar" - an upbeat dance song - for the project album and will take part in the "Love Songs 2011 Premium Concert" to be held in Saitama Super Arena in Japan in June.

Choshinsei facts

Geonil : The twin rapper with KwangSu, he's the magnae (youngest) and the tallest (he's 187cm) of the group. he used to study overseas in England and Germany so he speaks english quite good. Geonil is SungJe's roommate in their dorm. he said he couldn't stand drinking much alcohol but after 3 years sharing room with SungJe, now he's good in drinking & in Japan he's known as Ken-chan.
YoonHak : The oldest and the leader of the group. he speaks japanese fluently coz he studied in Japan by scholarship. YoonHak joined the group much later after the others. in Supernova, he's the sub-vocalist. he's also the translator for their Japan activities.
SungJe : The 2nd oldest of the group, he's also the main vocalist. he used to be the leader of Supernova before YoonHak joined in. he doesn't like horror movies and he's the best drinker in the group. :]]]]
SungMo : Also one of the main vocalist, his vocal is unique. he had waist injury during the period of their debut in Korea thus he missed a lot of promotions. it was weird to see only 5 members on the stage. he's 180cm tall which makes him the shortest of the group.
JiHyuk : he was quite focused in TTL and TTL Listen 2 performances. he's very confident with his looks, and all members often teased him about it. in Supernova, he's sub rapper too. he's a fan of Takahashi Ai (leader of Morning Musume).
KwangSoo : Another rapper in the group and the most muscular one. he likes exposing his abs muscles, someone said he could wash his own clothes with his absl. he shares room with JiHyuk, and he's a fan of Niigaki Risa (sub-leader Morning Musume). his favorite line is "Oh Yeah!"
